Agent setup guides

Connect another MCP client

Use your own client with a separate, revocable connection.

1. Check that your client supports remote MCP over Streamable HTTP and OAuth or a custom Authorization header. Model choice and MCP client support are different things.

2. In Librisol, open Agents, choose Add an agent, give the connection a name, and select the necessary books and actions. For direct key access, save the key in the client’s secret or credential settings when it is shown. Never put it in the prompt or server URL.

3. Set the server URL to https://librisol.com/api/agent/mcp. For a key-based connection set Authorization: Bearer <your-agent-access-key>. For OAuth, use the client’s sign-in action instead; select the permissions on the consent page it opens.

4. Connect and refresh tool discovery. Ask the agent to list accessible books and read the platform guidelines. For editing, ask it to read the book direction and formatting guide, save a draft and return its review link. A failed connection or missing tool is not permission to use another account or access private drafts.

5. Review the draft from the book’s review workspace. Saving a draft does not publish it. Direct agent publishing needs an explicit owner grant and must satisfy current team rules.

For an API-only client, the public API quick-start and OpenAPI link are at https://librisol.com/api/agent/v1. API access uses the connection’s Bearer key. OAuth tokens are accepted only at the MCP endpoint.

These instructions are free. Your Librisol account limits and any client or model charges still apply.
